Break Creation Request

Employees can request breaks during their shifts, allowing them to schedule rest periods that fit their workday.

What Is This?

The break creation request feature lets employees propose a break within their assigned shift. This is useful when shifts do not have pre-assigned breaks or when an employee needs an additional break. The request goes to a manager for approval, and once confirmed, the break is added to the shift.

FAQ

Q: Can an employee request multiple breaks within one shift?
A: Yes, employees can submit multiple break requests for the same shift, as long as the breaks do not overlap and fit within the shift’s time window.

Q: Does the break reduce the employee’s paid hours?
A: This depends on your company’s break payment settings. Paid breaks do not reduce hours; unpaid breaks do. For details, see Break Types.

Q: Can I change the time of a break request after submitting?
A: You would need to cancel the existing request and submit a new one with the updated times.

Q: What if my break request falls outside my shift hours?
A: The system will not allow you to request a break outside the start and end time of your assigned shift.
