Time-Off Requests

Submit vacation, sick day, and other time-off requests directly from the mobile app. Once approved, the schedule is updated automatically.


Step-by-Step Instructions

Submitting a Time-Off Request

Open the Shifton app.

Go to Requests or Time Off from the app menu.

Tap “New request” or “+”.

Select the time-off type (Vacation, Sick day, Holiday, or other).

Select the start date and end date.

Optionally add a comment or reason.

Tap Submit.

Checking Request Status

Canceling a Request

Find the pending request in the Requests section.

Tap on it.

Tap Cancel (only available while the status is Pending).

Q: Can I submit a sick day request for the same day?
A: Yes. Depending on your company’s policy, the request may require approval or be auto-approved.

Q: How do I check my remaining vacation balance?
A: The balance is displayed in the Time Off or Balance section of the app, and also in your employee profile on the web version.

Q: No time-off option available — what should I do?
A: Ask your administrator to activate the Vacation or Time-Off module.

Q: “Insufficient balance” error — what does it mean?
A: Your vacation days have been used up. Check your balance and discuss options with your manager.

Q: Do I get a notification when a request is approved or rejected?
A: Yes. You receive a push notification and an in-app notification when the status changes.

Q: Is the schedule updated automatically after approval?
A: Yes. After approval, shifts on those days are automatically removed from the schedule.
